Programme Description

A sound theoretical background to enrich students’ knowledge base and to enable them to apply that knowledge in a specific sport-related setting or to pursue further research in a relevant discipline.

Suitable for professionals working in the disciplines of:

  • Sports and/or sports science
  • Education
  • Health care
  • Sports administration

Programme Requirements

  • Students are required to complete at least 24 units of courses for graduation
  • *Students must achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in order to fulfil the graduation requirement.

Programme Highlights

Medium of Instruction

Courses will be mainly taught in English. The medium of instruction will be subject to the availability of teachers.

Tuition Fee (2026-27)

Full-time programme: HK$165,000 (by 2 installments)
Part-time programme: HK$151,000 (by 4 installments)

**Students who have not completed the programme within the normative study period will be accorded the status of continuing student. Continuing students will be expected to complete the programme within the maximum study period. For students admitted in 2024-25 and before, $10,000 per term will be charged to the continuing students if course(s) will be taken. For students admitted in 2025-26 and thereafter, prevailing tuition fee, based on course units registered in respective term(s), will be applicable to continuing students (students who need to extend study beyond normative study period) newly registered with effect from 2025-26. Any fee paid will not be refunded.

Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies

Introduced by the University Grant Committee (UGC) since the 2025-26 academic year, the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies provides a scholarship (subject to a cap of HK$100,000) for selected local students admitted in 2025-26 and 2026-27 intakes to pursue designated taught postgraduate programmes. Eligible students who have accepted an admission offer and settled the admission deposit before the scholarship application deadline will be invited to submit application for the Scholarship in due course.
